Cinegy suggests a good solution that will make Cinegy Multiviewer output its grid over SDI as easily as it does over IP or NDI. To have an SDI output option, the only thing you need is Cinegy Multiviewer and Cinegy Encode – a Cinegy Playout that acts as a multi-channel software stream encoder/decoder. NOTE: This scenario uses a Shared RAM input/output, so the Cinegy Multiviewer and Cinegy Playout instances must be installed on the same PC. To configure and run this scenario, follow the steps: 1. On the “Input settings” tab of the Cinegy Multiviewer Configurator, define the input source according to your needs. 2. Go to the “Output settings” tab and add a Shared RAM output, where define its name and select the appropriate video format. TIP: The “Global namespace” option should be enabled for sharing between several users on the machine, or between applications and services. With this option enabled, the application should be launched using the "Run as administrator" command. TIP: For testing purposes, you can enable a Windows Output on the “Output settings” tab and run Cinegy Multiviewer to display your current output. 3. On the "Playback" tab of the Cinegy Playout Configurator, define the Player mode corresponding to the Video format you specified in Cinegy Multiviewer (on step 2). 4. From the list of available Input devices select Shared RAM input device and indicate the name defined in Cinegy Multiviewer (as in step 2). TIP: The “Global namespace” option should be enabled for sharing between several users on the machine, or between applications and services. With this option enabled, the application should be launched using the "Run as administrator" command. 5. From the list of supported Output devices select the one corresponding to your SDI card (in our example - AJA Output): and define appropriate SDI card settings: Refer to https://open.cinegy.com/products/air/24.1/system-recommendations/cinegy-air-and-cinegy-title/#input-and-output-boards-recommendations for the list of supported boards and recommended drivers. 6. On the "General" tab of the Cinegy Playout Configurator, select "On start immediately switch to live" checkbox: 7. Having finished setting up the Playout configuration, restart the corresponding instance to apply the new configuration settings. The following screenshot displays the scenario with the AJA board used as an output:
